Here are some resources in the community who help support breastfeeding moms achieve their goals. 

Baby's Grasp

Chocolate Milk Café

The Chocolate Milk Café is a an organization that provides "peer to peer support from families part of the African diaspora providing human milk to their young". It is a national organization currently meeting virtually due to Covid-19. For more information visit their website www.chocolatemilkcafe.com.

Baby Breastfeeding

La Leche League of Topeka

La Leche League of Topeka strives to help mothers who want to breastfeed their babies. They provide assistance and help to work through the difficulties of breastfeeding. For more information visit www.llltopeka.org.

Breast Milk Pump

The University of Kansas Health System, St. Francis Campus 

St. Francis has a breastfeeding clinic is staffed by Registered Nurses, Lactation Consultants, and Certified Breastfeeding Educators to help moms with breastfeeding challenges. They also offer a free Prenatal Breastfeeding class and other learning opportunities for expectant parents. Visit www.kutopeka.com for more information.

Nursing Newborn

Stormont- Vail Regional Health Center 

Stormont Vail has a breastfeeding clinic staffed by Registered Nurses, Lactation Consultants, and Certified Breastfeeding Educators to help moms with breastfeeding challenges. They also offer a few free classes, Breastfeeding Basics and Pumping for Your Baby class. Visit www.stormontvail.org to register. 

Mother Working from Home

Black Breastfeeding Coalition of Topeka

The Black Breastfeeding Coalition of Topeka meets on the 4th Saturday of each month. They strive to promote a network of breastfeeding support through empowerment and education; to enhance the health and well-being of the black community in Shawnee County. Newborn Baby

WIC (Women Infants and Children)

The WIC program provides support and education to their pregnant and breastfeeding moms. If eligible, clients receive a monthly food package with nutritious foods. Income guidelines can be found at www.kansaswic.org. For the Shawnee County office call 785-251-5607.
